Shop Etiquette
Clear Layout Tables Daily
Shop Rules state that you must clear and clean your workspace on a daily basis and remove your work from the shop each day.
Don’t Be a Distraction
Avoid distracting fellow woodworkers while they are actively working or concentrating on a machinery operation or project.
Ask Before Helping
If you think a member needs assistance (holding stock, measuring, gluing, or guiding), always ask before jumping in to help.
Look, Don't Touch
Feel free to admire another woodworker’s project, but please do not pick up or handle someone else's work without permission.
Don’t Remove Clamps
NEVER remove clamps from someone’s project without asking first, even if it looks dry. Many glue-ups require clamping overnight.
Don’t Move Someone’s Project
Do not move another member's project to make room for yourself or to claim a specific bench. Always ask first.
Clean Up After Yourself
Sweeping down your station and returning all shop tools to their proper places is a mandatory Shop Rule after every session.
Help Carry the Load
The WWGVR club operates entirely through volunteers. Contact Us to lend a hand and help care for our facilities and equipment.
Be Safety Conscious Always
Stay aware of your immediate surroundings, nearby machines, and other woodworkers at all times while in the shop.
Pay for Your Coffee!
Coffee is $0.25 per cup or $1.00 per week. It is not free—please remember to drop your payment in the coffee honor box! |
